Two flood protection developments successfully completed along the River Ipel'
Two project elements have been successfully completed within the framework of the “Flood Protection along the River Ipel', #floodguard” (HUSK/2302/1.2/058) project. The developments aim to ensure the safe drainage of sudden rainfall and to reduce the risk of inland flooding through the cooperation of Ludányhalászi, Endrefalva and Obec Čeláre.
In Obec Čeláre (SK), 242 metres of drainage ditch were renovated, alongside the reconstruction of four residential bridges and the construction of a new pedestrian bridge. These investments have improved the settlement’s drainage system and contributed to a more orderly village environment.
In Endrefalva (HU), the riverbed of the Csurgó Stream was restored over a length of 1,525 metres, including dredging, cleaning and the repair of stone revetments. The development increases water conveyance capacity and reduces flood risk in the area.
Further project elements in Ludányhalászi (HU) are still ongoing, with additional developments expected in the coming months. Together, the three investments contribute to creating a safer and more predictable environment for communities living along the River Ipel'.
