Joint Secretariats:
Altogether Joint Secretariats of 5 INTERREG CBC Programmes operate within the Company employing colleagues from abroad as well. The Joint Secretariats ensure the smooth operation of programmes starting from the programming phase to call for proposals, implementation and programme closure. The Secretariats prepare and coordinate calls for proposals and in the implementation phase they operate the monitoring system of projects. To ensure the broadest possible and efficient dissemination, the Joint Secretariats ensure the up-to-date operation of program-level websites, publish newsletters and brochures and organize partner search forums, professional conferences, info days and seminars for lead beneficiaries.

Related national tasks:
In the 2021-2027 programming period, the International Directorate performs verification and other related tasks on a national level in 11 cooperation programmes (cross-border, transnational and interregional programmes) in accordance with the relevant legislation. The verification process includes sample checks of reports of project partners from Hungary based on risk analysis, on-the-spot visits according to national rules and preparing verification reports. In addition to verification tasks, the control units are also responsible for the preparation and issuing of national co-financing and EU contribution pre-financing certificates for Hungarian project partners.

Horizontal management tasks: 

The horizontal management units of the International Directorate provide among others, the smooth operation of the programmes’ IT systems (INTERREG+, and NAHU systems) and the regulatory and payment functions supporting the implementation of programmes. The implementation, monitoring and payment processes of the programmes are performed in these systems. The potential applicants shall submit their joint level applications, the project implementation reports of lead beneficiaries and the project partner reports on national level are also processed in the INTERREG+ system. The NAHU system supports the financial and management processes at the national level.  

The Regional Coordinators of the Interreg VI-A Austria-Hungary Programme, the Info Points of the Interreg VI-A Slovenia-Hungary Programme and the Info Points of the Interreg VI-A Romania-Hungary Programme also operate within the International Directorate.

Other tasks of the Directorate:
The Directorate also performs intermediate body tasks in the Swiss-Hungarian Cooperation Programme (second phase).
