The Monitoring Committee is the decision-making body which supervises and monitors the Programme implementation.

The Audit Authority designated at ROHU Programme level is the Audit Authority within the Romanian Court of Accounts to carry out the audit missions on the management and control systems.

 

The Interreg VI-A Romania-Hungary Programme of the 2021-2027 programming period aims to create a greener, more resilient, and cohesive cross-border region between Romania and Hungary, with an enhanced understanding of cooperation opportunities, increased trust and reduced barriers to cooperation, towards Agenda 2030 common targets with a more sustainable cooperation framework.

The Programme disposes of a total budget of approx. 176 million EUR, out of which 140 million EUR represent non-refundable support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The funding can be provided to applicants from the Romanian-Hungarian cross-border region, i.e. the Programme eligible area, including Arad, Bihor, Satu Mare and Timiş counties on the Romanian side and Békés, Csongrád-Csanád, Hajdú-Bihar and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg counties on the Hungarian side.

In terms of the eligibility of the applicants, the Programme only finances projects where the partnership consists of legal entities, the main categories of applicants:

·         Public authorities;

·         Bodies governed by public law;

·         Nonprofit organizations governed by private law;

·         EGTCs.

 

The Calls for Proposals target the three priority axes of the Programme, focusing on the following topics:

Ensuring equal access to healthcare and fostering resilience of health systems, including primary care, and promoting the transition from institutional to family- and community-based care

PRIORITY 3: A MORE SUSTAINABLE, COMMUNITY-BASED AND EFFECTIVE CROSS-BORDER COOPERATION

Enhance the institutional capacity of public authorities, in particular, those mandated to manage a specific territory, and of stakeholders

Enhance efficient public administration by promoting legal and administrative cooperation and cooperation between citizens, civil society actors and institutions, in particular with a view to resolving legal and other obstacles in border regions

The Programme launched the 1st Open Call for the SOFT and HARD project in July 2023 with the deadline for submission being 2023.09.27. The Programme has extended the application deadline for HARD projects under its 1st Open Call to January 26, 2024, which allowed more participants to prepare and submit their project proposals effectively. Evaluation of projects is still ongoing.
